Lazy Oaf | Girls Just Want to Have Fun

Lazy Oaf is one of my new favorite UK brands of funkier clothing fair.  Pop graphic centric and 90's nostalgia style laden, I can imagine only a few pieces of theirs on my person (of 33 years) being able to pull off a lot of it effectively.  Nonetheless, I think a lot of there stuff is just fun and well.. cool that I would love to have in my closet!  I recently got the bone leggings and they feature that nice, high waist and slick spandex.

They are also offering a lot of their clothing at asos.com

Fumie Sasabuchi

Fumie Sasabuchi is a Japanese artist that uses the body as a vehicle of exploration.  In these pieces Sasabuchi fuses anatomical drawings with pages of fashion pictorials playing eerily with body image and perception, inside | outside, and our own inherent preoccupation with mortality | death.

Her newer works deviate from this style intricate ball point pen doodling with more traditional painting, drawing, and sculpture but she is still fundamentally collaging these ideas.  Her most recent work can be viewed here.

stylestalker

One of my favorite labels right now is stylestalker.  Asos generally stocks their pieces some of which are on sale.. The leggings however, are NOT on sale. :(  They are just amazing!  WISHLISTED.

Latest wants - Zane and Zeke

I'm still feeling demystified by garments and am sticking to shoes.  Here are my latest favorites by Jeffrey Campbell.  I especially adore the green Zanes.

Louis Vuitton Fall 2011

Hadley

Hadley is a friend of mine from Kansas that persued fashion at Parsons in Paris.. She has recently moved back to Kansas City where we met and is working on just lovely things.  Here are some of her pieces from her 2010 and 2011 collections featured on NOT JUST A LABEL.

"Hadley Johnson was named Parsons Paris 2010 Designer of the Year for her debut collection, "Till Death Do Us Part". Conceptually grounded by a Fine Arts BFA in 2001, Johnson approaches fashion as a discipline. Her generative studio practice has a choreographic and architectural rhythm. Johnson's projects with experimental and formal dance groups in New York include costuming a 2011 performance in collaboration with composer Philip Glass. Hadley Johnson's most recent costuming role was funded by the Andy Warhol Foundation of the Visual Arts.  She is currently in development of a clandestine project with international art doyenne, Peregrine Honig."

miista,miista!

For me, this is the perfect summer shoe.  These are another miista design that until a few days ago were only available in blue and taupe.  I ordered them from http://www.solestruck.com/ - my favorite online shoe boutique.  I am hoping they will carry the mesh bootie in the previous post soon! <3
